Deep in the corrupted jungles of Gur, the trees alternate between leafless death, full bloom in purple-pink majesty, and a garish transparent uncolor that inverts light into deep azure. The sky flickers between golden-red hues and the chaotic static texture of a dead TV channel. The distorted fields the trees produce leave an electric fuzzy feeling all around, and a light shock if you touch the uncolor-afflicted areas.
Slimes are the primary inhabitants of these cursed lands, with one exception. Cyan slimes are slow and docile, Magenta slimes aggressive, Yellow slimes corrosive, and a deep purple variant floats as if gravity were optional. The only other life here is the Death Rex: a skeletal bipedal beast phasing in and out of existence. Hostile and elusive, it towers over a man yet sneaks through the jungle unseen. Gur is not merely observed—it observes you.
You are a researcher.
To begin, roll on the Happenings table.
In this game, you journal out your progress and decide what happens. If you want help deciding, use the Oracle.
[Roll Happenings → Treasure → Armor]
I found a strange piece of armor, and decided to show it to a fellow researcher.
[Roll Happenings → Death Rex]
As I was heading back to camp I encountered a Death Rex. The terrifying beast roared and began to chase me.
It should have caught up to me and gobbled me to bits, but instead I managed to outrun it.
I could swear I heard it laughing as I ran. Could it have just been toying with me? I'll have to give this information to the Death Rex research team once I get back to camp. It should be right beyond that cliff-wall.
Note: This example shows how you roll results, expand them into narrative, and use the Oracle for resolution.
How to ask: Always phrase questions positively.
Gur is not a place to be conquered—it is a place to be survived, studied, and remembered.
Use the tables to generate strange encounters, journal your progress, and let the Oracle guide your fate. The corrupted landscapes and glitch aesthetics of Gur are endless narrative hooks waiting to be explored.
